ADSL has been at the forefront at the new field providing technical capacity support in fine tuning Bangladesh’s trade regime. We are building capacity of pertinent bodies through providing policy support, capacity development programs, WTO related research and partnering or twinning. The firm, under an EC-supported technical assistance program, supported capacity strengthening activities of the Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute and implemented a twinning program for the institute with Indian Institute of Foreign Trade. It supported the strengthening of Bangladesh Tariff Commission initiative. ADSL has a research focus on trade issues and conducted strategic review of the Ministry of Commerce and FTA feasibility studies. It is now working in the EC-supported Bangladesh trade policy support programme for formulating a comprehensive trade policy with the Ministry of Commerce and the Export Promotion Bureau.
In SME development, ADSL has substantial experiences. It implemented a targeted SME Capacity Building for Rural Non-firm Sector for ADB. It carried out seven value chain studies and developed baselines for the sectors. As an M&E contractor, ADSL has worked in continuous monitoring IFC’s BICF and SEDF initiatives.
